I have Directv and was able to watch the Duke-Elon game last night on channel 646 Fox Sports South. It was not blacked out. Duke played rusty. Typical exam week game. Congrats to Coach K. I watched his post game news conference and he was gracious when discussing the tie with Coach Smith. A class act!

Serious G, that is great about having tickets for Feb. 13. That may end up as one of the toughest ACC games that Duke has this season. Like you, I miss Z's screens, and more generally the presence of him and LT on the court. In more ways than many realized, I think they set the tone for last year's team. (And to be complete, I miss Jon S., too. I am glad that those three guys graduated with championship rings.) Um, Elon. And UNC-G next. And a not-very-inspiring slate of ACC games after that. I worry that this year's team will start to feel like they can cruise along, wake up for a few minutes and put a 14-0 run on the opponent, and collect the W. That is a very dangerous frame of mind when one gets in the Sweet Sixteen against someone like (last year's) Butler or UNI that has snuck in under everyone's radar. I am confident that K. will do his considerable best to keep the team focused and playing hard. And the PSBAD (*thanks for naming this concept, Matt*) may save us; there may be some ACC games that will be tougher than they have any right to be. If it happens, that will help us a lot. Congratulations to Coach K. for tying Coach Smith for wins and recently surpassing Coach Rupp.

Didn't see it but your play-by-play was great. Thanks Matt. Need to find a replay of game somewhere. Anybody?

Total offensive output by the Plumlee's was a meager 8 points. It seemed like Mason was going to "come of age" after the Marquette game. It is looking more and more like some freak accident. We are getting very perimeter oriented. Yes, Nolan had some great drives and Ryan had a few nice post moves. But this was E-l-o-n for God's sake. Hopefully, the ACC will really be as weak as it appears. But if this team is going to seriously pursue another Championship then Miles and Mason are going to have to get a lot better.

I agree Matt. About what was expected. Thanks for your play by play input. And.. we wait another 9 days. Looking forward to the ACC season starting.

Final Duke 98, Elon 72. Not a great defensive performance by any stretch, but then, Nolan couldn't have played more than 22 or 23 minutes with the foul trouble, and they exploited that. In any case, the outcome was never in doubt. Tool Nation and such will try to make something out of a 26-point win, but it's a December exams/holiday game and thus means little.

Not panicking by any means, but what is going on with our defence? What we have seen so far really highlights the importance of having players like LT & Zoubs, IMO. I hope this can be addressed as the season goes along. We will also miss the great screens set by Zoubs to free up the guards.

I bought tickets to the Duke game @ Miami (Feb 13). I cannot wait. I can't remember what this site says about the quiet crowd in MIA...was it the whisper dome or something like that?

Pretty methodical. Nice three pointer by Elon at the buzzard. Looks like Miles is trying to prove something. Seth is getting a little antsy in a couple of plays there. Get Well Soon Kyrie!
