DUKIES.COM POLL
Heading into the postseason, what's your take?
Duke is a serious Final Four contender
We just may have kept the Duke Foot Injury from ending our season for the third straight year
Miami is really backing into the tournament phase
So much for those little Tools and their VAUNTED twelve-guard lineup, at least until next Saturday
Still not going to miss Maryland, College Park at all
Just enjoying the ride
I have some gripe or other but will hold it for now

TWO DUKIES PICK THE ACC
Volume XIII, Episode 22
January 26, 2010
N . . . C . . . STATE!! AND OTHER CLEVER CHEERS EDITION

Matt’s comments in blue.
duhomme's comments in red.

CLEMSON (15-5, 3-3) @ BOSTON COLLEGE (11-9, 2-4)

The Tiggers got tossed out of the Top 25 after their two losses last week, which is sort of rough treatment considering that the losses came to the BugThugs and Duke.  The Institutional Insects’ follow-up performance at Florida State may not have helped the cause of Clem’s Son, but still, that’s got to be some roller coaster ride, after ESPN just discovered that you actually have a homecourt (and an outstanding one, for - - get this - - decades now!!!!!!) and all.  In any case, it’s just about time for Outrageous Ollie to start the Annual Clemson Tank Job; I won’t pick it, but watch them lose this one.

Clemson 65, Boston College 64.

Whitehouse Station, N.J. – For Immediate Release. Merck & Co., Inc. (NYSE: MRK) today announced the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved its revolutionary treatment for embarrassing home losses. Called “Easawin,” the product combines a mediocre coach, mediocre players and no home court advantage to ease the pain of being swept by a team that lost to clueless N.C. State. However, FDA Commissioner John Swofford recommends that certain patients should  be limited to only one dose per season.

Clemson 78, Boston College 65.

MIAMI (FLORIDA) (15-4, 1-4) @ MARYLAND, COLLEGE PARK (13-5, 3-1)

I was pretty surprised that the Droplets didn’t draw more votes in the Associated Guess poll this week - - surging past overly stiff Longwood, then destroying that NCSU juggernaut, and no love?  By the way, is anyone playing an easier ACC schedule this season than Sweaty?  Meanwhile, the Hurryclowns prepare to drop to 1-5 with this one, forcing peals of laughter at the fact that they were ranked just three weeks ago; bye, Frank.

Maryland
, College Park 74, Miami (Florida) 64.

Of course the Turds blew the Woofies all the way to BWI after said furry fellows playing the game of the decade when Duke came into Raleigh. Meanwhile, Mee-Mee can’t even beat Boston College at home. Just go, go, you’re embarrassing both of us.

Maryland
, College Park 92, Miami (Florida) 70.

NORTH CAROLINA-CHAPEL HILL (12-7, 1-3) @ NORTH CAROLINA STATE (13-7, 2-4)

Unranked North Carolina - - hahahahahahahahaha.  Oh, that feels good to say out loud.  Listen, we’ll all be watching this one with breathless anticipation, because if the Tools drop it, they’re probably out of the NCAA Tournament barring a fairly serious 180, but we all know they’re not going to drop it.

North Carolina-Chapel Hill 74, North Carolina State 69.

You know, a strange thing happened when the polls came out Monday; the sure-thing repeat as National Champs were nowhere to be seen. Well, except the Coaches’ “Poll,” where they got one vote.  Wonder who that was?

North Carolina State
71, North Carolina-Chapel Hill 69.

serious g, i haven't heard it, but i will see if it is on rhapsody. for the most part, i think the "remain in light" tour was their finest material. the live version of "warning signs" is awesome.

having said that, anything eno gets his hands on is always quality music.

duhomme - being a fan of Talking Heads, what did you make of the most recent Byrne/Eno collaboration?

G, I wish I had picked it. The Clemson Collapse lives.

Blowout is on in Raleigh. 23-14, 6:50 (1). Shocking!

Road loss to BC...ouch. Unless I am wrong about how bad BC is.

Tomorrow's game will be great.
